यथोक्तकारी वचनमुत्तरं चैव सोत्तरम् ।
बृहस्पतिसमो बुद्ध्या मत्त्वा रामानुजस्तदा ॥

अन्वयः

तदा then, यथोक्तकारी obedient, रामानुजः Rama's younger brother, भ्रातुः brother's, कामक्रोधसमुत्थेन inspired by love and anger, कोपाग्निना by the fire of anger, वृतः encompassed, अप्रीतः displeased, बुद्ध्या in his mind, बृहस्पतिसमः like Brihaspati, लक्ष्मणः Lakshmana, सोत्तरम् answer to be given, उत्तरं वचनम् words of reply, मत्वा thinking over, तदा then, प्रभञ्जन इव like stormy wind, प्रययौ marched.

Intelligent like Bșhaspati and ever abiding by his elder brother's behest, Laksmana, revolving in his mind what he should say as well as Sugrīva's answers, and enveloped with the fire of anger arising from the excitement of his brother's amour, and therefore displeased, proceeded quick as air.

Summary

Then Lakshmana, obedient, intelligent like Brihaspati, like a tempest, encompassed by the fire of anger and deliberating in his mind as to the possible questions from Sugriva and the reply from him.
