अन्वयः

वीर: स: that mighty Sri Rama, कैकेय्या: Kaikeyi's, प्रियकारणात् with a view to gratify, पितु: father's, वचननिर्देशात् by the word of command, प्रतिज्ञाम् his promise, अनुपालयन् while obeying, वनम् forest, जगाम went.

In pursuance of his father's promise, and with the view of compassing the pleasure of Kaikeyī, that heroic one, commanded by his sire, repaired to the forest.

Summary

Mighty Sri Rama inorder to please Kaikeyi and obey the word of command of his father, went to the forest and help the king to keep his promise to Kaikeyi.
