अन्वयः

इति in this manner, हृदयमनोविदारणम् breaking the heart and mind, तत् मुनिवचनम् those words of sage Visvamitra, शश्रुवान् listened, महान् revered, नरपति: king, तदा then, अतीव व्यथितमना: अभवत् was exstreemly mentally agitated, आसनात् from his throne, चचाल च was shaken.

Then, having regained his senses, he rose up, and became cast down through apprehension. Having heard the words of the ascetic, capable of rending the mind and heart, the high-souled king of men became stricken with grief and shook on his seat.

Summary

The great king felt shaken off his throne after listening to the words of the sage (Viswamitra) which broke his heart and terribly upset his mind.इत्यार्षे श्रीमद्रामायणे वाल्मीकीय आदिकाव्ये बालकाण्डे एकोनविंशस्सर्ग:॥Thus ends the nineteenth sarga of Balakanda of the holy Ramayana the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
