अन्वयः

धर्मज्ञः knower of the ways of righteousness, सर्वभूतहिते in the welfare of all beings, रतः engaged, समनुप्राप्ताम् who had just come there, सत्कृताम् revered by all, वृद्धाम् aged, पत्नी च his wife also, आमन्त्र्य called out, सान्त्वयामास said kind words.

And his aged wife having come there, Atri greeted her; and after she had been paid homage, the sage cognizant of virtue ever engaged in the good of all creatures, gladdened her (by presenting Sītā to her.) And that best of sages said to the pious female ascetic, Anasüyā, engaged in offices of virtue, “Do you accept Videha's daughter."

Summary

Conversant in the ways of righteousness and eagaged in the welfate of all beings, sage Atri called out his aged wife who is revered by all and spoke kind words to her.
