अन्वयः

धर्मज्ञः knower of righteousness, सः that Rama, अथ thereafter, बाष्पपूर्णाक्षान् eyes filled with tears, सुदुःखितान् deeply afflicted, तान्नरान् those people, समीक्ष्य having seen, पितृवत् like a father, मातृवच्च like a mother, पर्यष्वजत embraced.

Seeing those men oppressed with grief with their eyes filled with tears, that one cognizant of virtue like fathers and mothers, embraced those that deserved it.

Summary
