अन्वयः

काकुत्स्थे when Rama of the Kakutstha family, इति this way, ब्रुवति while he spoke, लक्ष्मणः Lakshmana, बाष्पशोकपरिप्लुते full of tears of sorrow, क्रुद्धः angry, रुद्धः tied up, नागः इव like a serpent, श्वसन् hissing, अब्रवीत् said.

Vaidehī speaking thus being influenced by sorrow, and with tears in her eyes, like to a deer, Laksmana spoke to her.

Summary

As Rama was thus full of tears of sorrow, Lakshmana sighed heavily in anger like a hissing serpant in confinement. And said:
