अस्य देवप्रभावस्य वसतो विजने वने ।
रक्षसापहृता भार्या यामिच्छन्ताविहागतौ ॥

अन्वयः

विजने desolate, वने in the forest, वसतः living, देवप्रभावस्य as powerful as a god, अस्य his, पत्नी wife, रक्षसा by a demon, अपहृता is carried off, याम् whom, इच्छन्तौ both wishing, इह here, आगतौ came.

Being thwarted by mother (Kaikeyi) in his accession of kingdom, he, renouncing all, has fled as an exile to woods, and has, along with me and his spouse, been ranging this forest. While living in the dense forest the wife of Răma, effulgent like to the celestials has been ravished by a Raksasa. Searching her, have we come here.

Summary

He is equal to a god in prowess. While living in this desolate forest his wife has been carried off by a demon. We both came here searching for her.
