अम्बरे in the sky, प्लवमानस्य when he was flying, वायुपुत्रस्य of the son of the Windgod, समाविद्धम् installed, लाङ्गूलम् tail, उच्छ्रितं lifted up (in the air), शक्रध्वजः इव like the flag staff of Indra, शोभते looks splendid.

Beside his coppery nose, his face looked coppery, as looks the solar disc on the approach of eve. And the uplifted tail of the Wind-god's offspring engaged in bounding, appeared beautiful in the sky like the raised standard of Sakra.
Summary
As the son of the Windgod was flying through the sky, his coiled up tail looked splendid like the banner installed at the festival in honour of Indra (on the fifteenth day of the month of Bhadrapada).
