सा रामसंकीर्तनवीतशोका; रामस्य शोकेन समानशोका ।
शरन्मुखेनाम्बुदशेषचन्द्रा; निशेव वैदेहसुता बभूव ॥

अन्वयः

रामस्य Rama's, शोकेन because of his sorrow, समानशोका equally sad, रामसङ्कीर्तनवीतशोका devoid of sorrow on hearing about Rama, सा she, वैदेहसुता the daughter of Videha, शरन्मुखे at the advent of autumn, साम्बुदशेषचन्द्रा Moon muffled by clouds, निशेव like the night, बभूव appeared.

On hearing about Rāma, Sītā was greatly delighted and she was equally grieved on hearing of his sorrow. And it appeared like the rising of the moon and the appearance of the clouds at the same time in an autumnal night.

Summary

Her sorrow was mitigated by references made by Hanuman about Rama.She felt equally sad when she heard about Rama's agony.
