ससंभ्रमं त्रस्तविषण्णराक्षसां; समुज्ज्वलज्ज्वालहुताशनाङ्किताम् ।
ददर्श लङ्कां हनुमान्महामनाः; स्वयम्भुकोपोपहतामिवावनिम् ॥

अन्वयः

महामनाः a highly sensitive person, हनुमान् Hanuman, ससम्भ्रमत्रस्तविषण्णराक्षसाम् with demons perplexed, scared and sorrowful, समुज्वलज्ज्वालहुताशनाङ्किताम् succumbed to the flames of the burning firegod, लङ्काम् Lanka, स्वयम्भूकोपोपहताम् hit by the anger of Brahma (at the time of dissolution of the universe), अवनिम् इव like the earth, लङ्काम् Lanka, ददर्श saw.

Then the mighty-minded Hanumān beheld the Rākşasas in terror and trepidation and cast down, and Lankā marked by fire and bright flames, even as the Self-sprung eye the world destroyed by his rage.

Summary

Highly sensitive Hanuman saw the city of Lanka filled with perplexed, scared and sorrowful demons, Lanka succumbed to the flames of firegod and looked as if it was hit by the anger of Brahma, the selfborn god.
