सा ददर्श सखीं सीतां सरमा नष्टचेतनाम् ।
उपावृत्योत्थितां ध्वस्तां वडवामिव पांसुषु ॥

अन्वयः

सखी friend, सा that, सरमा Saarana, नष्टचेतनाम् lost consciousness, पांसुलाम् dirty ground, उपावृत्त्य enveloped, उत्थिताम् female horse, ध्वस्ताम् covered with, बडबामिव like a female horse, सीताम् Sita, ददर्श saw.

Sītā, who was protected there (by Saramā), had been made a friend by her. And, protecting her at the command of Rāvana, that kind-hearted companion, firm in vows, saw Sītā, deprived of her consciousness. And she' comforted with a friend's affection that one of fair vows, who was rolling in the dust and rising up from it like a mare. १. Saramă. २. The commentator intelligently remarks. As a mare does, to remove fatigue.

Summary

Saarana saw her friend Sita, who had lost consciousness, fully covered by dust by rolling on the dirty ground like a female horse.
