विदार्यमाणा हरिपुंगवैस्तदा; निशाचराः शोणितदिग्धगात्राः ।
पुनः सुयुद्धं तरसा समाश्रिता; दिवाकरस्यास्तमयाभिकाङ्क्षिणः ॥

अन्वयः

तदा then, हरिपुङ्गवैः monkey leader, विदार्यमाणाः killed by, शोणितदिग्धगात्राः full of blood, निशाचराः Rakshasas, दिवाकरस्य sun's, अस्तमयाभिकाङ्क्षिणः looking for Sun set, तरसा, पुनः again, सुयुद्धम् that war, समास्थिता adhering together.

Thus destroyed by the foremost of monkeys, the rangers of night, beyond themselves with the smell of blood, eagerly wishing for the setting of the Sun, again made active preparation for a renewal of the fight.
