अन्वयः

नः no doubt, तातमध्यमः middle father and uncle, महावीर्यः of great prowess, हतः killed, एवमेव he alone, तु to you, राजन् King, भवान् यथा like you, सत्पुरुषाः good men, न विलपन्ति not wail.

O Sire, this second uncle to us possessed of mighty prowess has* forsooth been slain in fight. But, О king, heroes never indulge in grief as youdoes. as *Evameva-forsooth, I render it. The commentator, however, says it means such as you have described him.

Summary

"There is no doubt that Kumbhakarna, who is your middle father and uncle, was also endowed with great prowess. He has been killed. O King! Good men like you do not wail."
